Sim Names The 3-character Sim Names shown on the Sim Overview page are very important since they influence the behaviour of RunDynam in the following ways. Serious users of RunDynam must understand these so that they can make appropriate choices for the Sim Names for their different applications. •You should think of the Sim Names as shorthand descriptions for the relevant columns on the Closure/Shocks page. •The names of the results files (including the Solution files, updated data and spreadsheet files) produced by RunDynam are determined from the Sim Names. •The name of the standard Simulation Details file saved by RunDynam is determined by the Sim Names. When you successfully run any job (for example, a simulation or a spreadsheet job), RunDynam updates these Simulation Details files. •When you successfully run any job (for example, a simulation or a spreadsheet job), RunDynam records details of the run in the appropriate Record of Runs file. The names of these Record of Runs files are determined by the Sim Names. In particular, if you are managing several different applications in the same directory, appropriate choices of these Sim Names for the different parts of the applications is vital, as several detailed examples show. When you ask about Where to Start? or Are Results Still Ok?, the Record of Runs files checked are those determined by the Sim Names currently showing on the Sim Overview page. Similarly, when you are starting a run and ask RunDynam to check if the prerequisites are still ok, the Record of Runs files checked are those determined by the Sim Names currently showing on the Sim Overview page.
