Checks Before a Run Starts When you ask to run some jobs (maybe several simulations or some simulations and spreadsheet jobs), the software carries out various checks before it starts the job running. •First RunDynam checks if all essential files exist. Essential files are files that oare essential for one of the jobs you are about to run, and owhich will not be created by another of the jobs you are about to run. oIf any essential files are missing, you cannot run the jobs you have requested. •Then, unless you are starting with the simulation for the first year of the Base, the program checks if the prerequisites are still ok. This checks whether the results you will produce will be the same as if you were to run everything from the start. [You can suppress this checking via an option in the Run Preferences menu.] •Then RunDynam checks each of the output files to be created during the run (for example, all the Solution and updated data files and the different spreadsheet files) to see that a new version can be created. If not you are warned that the relevant file appears to be locked by another program, and you can cancel the job in order to rectify the problem.
