Introduction After running a simulation, you can use AnalyseGE to see the values of any expression involving Coefficients and Variables from the model in question. Variable values are simulation results (which can be multi-step or Johansen). Coefficient values are (normally) pre-simulation values. For more details, see Getting Started. If you click on a statement in the TABmate form and then right-click, a context-sensitive popup menu will give you various options. [For example, if you click on the declaration of a Variable and then right-click, you will be able to look at the values of this variable.] Enter an expression into the memo box on the AnalyseGE form or select an expression on the TABmate form. The program will evaluate this expression and put the values into a Header Array file. You can repeat for different expressions. Examples will make this clear. If you select an equation or formula in the TABmate form, the program can decompose the equation (either side) or the formula into its natural constituents. Examples of decomposing formulas or of decomposing equations will make this clear. Full details of the model and simulation are available in AnalyseGE. The values of variables which are endogenous or are backsolved for are available, but the values of variables which have been substituted out of the model are, of course, not available. [If you need the values of such variables in order to analyse a particular equation, you will need to rerun TABLO to backsolve instead and then rerun the simulation.] You can evaluate expressions involving omitted variables since the program knows to give them the value zero. The values of all Coefficients are available. There are some restrictions on the statements in the TABmate form or in the AnalyseGE form that can be processed at present. Hands-on introductions to the use of AnalyseGE are available. We strongly recommend that you work through one of these documents before you start using AnalyseGE to analyse the results from your own model. A GEMPACK licence may be required.
