Which Spreadsheet files to create By default, the software produces •year-on-year and cumulative spreadsheets at the end of the base, base rerun and policy, and •the cumulative differences spreadsheet at the end of the policy run. [This default changed with Version 1.6 (November 2000). Previously the default was also to create the year-on-year differences spreadsheet at the end of the policy run.] These spreadsheet files can be accessed via the Results for All Years part of the Results page. If you select option Do Abbreviated SS Jobs, only the year-on-year (not the cumulative) spreadsheets will be produced at the end of the base, base rerun and policy. If you select option Make Year-on-Year Differences SS, the year-on-year differences spreadsheet will be produced (in addition to the others produced by default). Note that even experienced users of this software find this file not easy to interpret. The cumulative differences are the ones which are easier to interpret and which are usually the results you should be reporting as the effects of the policy you are examining. By default the spreadsheets do not contain subtotals results. If you select option Accumulate Subtotals Results any subtotals results will be shown in the spreadsheets (including the differences spreadsheet) covering all or several years. Note that if you wish to produce any subtotals results, you must include the subtotals Command file statements in your CMFSTART file. Because the same CMFSTART file applies to all years of any one run, you can only include subtotals corresponding to variables which are exogenous in all years of the relevant run. More details.
