Running Part or All of a Complete Policy Simulation

The complete policy simulation consists of several simulations for each of the Base, Rerun (if being done) and Policy, followed by the spreadsheet jobs for these.

You can decide to carry out all of these or any part.

If you wish to carry out the complete policy simulation, the simplest way is to click on menu item Run Base, Rerun and Policy (called Run Base and Policy if Rerun is not being done) under the Tasks menu. Alternatively, click first on the Run Base Case button, then, when that is finished, on the Rerun Base button (if doing Rerun) and finally, when that is finished, on the Run Policy button.

If you wish to carry out only some parts of the complete policy simulation, there are several menu items under the Tasks menu. For example,

•Run Part Base, Same Parts Rerun, Policy if you want to run say the first 6 years of the Base, Rerun and Policy.

•Run Part BaseRerun, All Parts Policy if you want to complete the Rerun and then do all of the Policy.

•Run part of Base Case if you want to run several years of the Base.

•Run SS Jobs for Selected Years if you just want to run some spreadsheet jobs. These allow you to look at results for the selected years via ViewSOL, the spreadsheet file or via AnalyseGE.

•Run Simulations for Selected Years if you want to carry out some task which is not covered by one of the other menu items. This item lets you select certain years from the Base, possibly different years from the Rerun and/or Policy. You can include or exclude spreadsheet jobs as you prefer.

When you have specified the parts to be done, the software carries out various checks before starting the run.
