Save Screen as CSV file The Export..Save Screen to CSV file command causes the current window (either Contents or Data) to be saved as a text file. The text file is of the Comma Separated Value (CSV) type, which can used by various programs. For example, you can open it directly in Excel. You can also open it in Word. In the latter case, a series of items separated by commas appears in your document: select them all and use Word's Convert Text to Table command. Saving of the Data window is affected by the Data Export Options. When saving real matrices for spreadsheet use, remember that the data saved are only as accurate as those displayed on screen. You may want to increase the number of decimal places before saving. If you are viewing [a slice or subtotal of] a matrix with 3 or more dimensions, the Save Screen command copies only the currently visible 2-dimensional view. To export a 3-dimensional matrix to a spreadsheet, you could save the header as a GEMPACK text file. See also Exporting Data to a Spreadsheet Program. If data view has been sorted using column or row sorting, a warning will be shown that data will be exported in current sort order and that data cannot be imported back in this sort order.
