Data Export Options

The Options item in the Export menu allows you to control how the data window is copied to clipboard or saved to file. The options are With Labels, With Totals, and Transposed.

By default, row and column labels are included in the data exported. So too, in the case of real matrices, are row and column totals. You can choose to exclude either of these. If the Transposed option is checked, the Copy and Save commands will export the transpose of the Data window to the clipboard or file. The normal setting is Not Transposed.

The caption (text) of the Options item shows what the current settings are.

Export of the Contents window is not affected by the With Labels and With Totals settings.

Rounding Data

Sometimes we wish to convert data to round numbers. To do this, view the numbers with decimal places set to 0. Switch off the With Labels and With Totals options. Export..Copy the data to clipboard. Then Import..Paste -- no visible change will be seen. Now set decimal places to 3, and you will see that all numbers have integer values. This works because data is exported to clipboard in a text format -- just as you see it.
