Saving Ingredients, Except Model EXE Files, as Zip Archive

This saves the same as a full Zip Archive except that the Model EXE files (those going in MODEL.ZIP in a full Zip archive) are not included.

If you send this to a colleague, that colleague will not be able to reproduce your results from this Zip archive, since you are not sending the TABLO-generated program you used to create your results.

However, you are sending the TAB file in TABETC.ZIP. If your colleague has a GEMPACK licence, he or she can create the TABLO-generated program EXE (or the GEMSIM Auxiliary files) and then reproduce your results.

Zip archives which exclude the Model files are much smaller than full Zip archives. Sometimes the full Zip archive might be too large to send by email while the version excluding the Model EXE files can be sent ok.

Changes for Version 3.51 (February 2010)

We have made changes with Version 3.51 (February 2010) to the ZIP file you get when you save the ingredients except for the model EXE.

The default name of the ZIP file produced now has -noexe.zip at the end (for example, MO2-BASB-PRER-FASP-noexe.zip) so you can see immediately the type of ZIP archive it is.

Even though the EXE file is not included in the model.zip part of the ZIP archive, the AXT and MIN files are now included.

If you are running GEMSIM to solve the model, the ZIP archive you get does include the GSS and GST files. That makes it effectively the same as the full Zip archive.

When you restore from such a ZIP archive (made by Version 3.51 or later), things go much more smoothly than before. In particular,

the starting data files part of the Model/Data page is now correct (it is the same as it would be if you were restoring from a full Zip archive).

the Model EXE is cleared on the Model/Data page.

If you rebuild the model EXE (by running TABLO and LTG) and then link it in via the Change Model button on the Model/Data page, things will be just as if you had restored from a full Zip archive. The one difference is that the model EXE will be made with your version of GEMPACK rather than by the version of GEMPACK used by the colleague who sent you the Zip archive.
