Models

RunDynam can only be used with models that are implemented using Release 7.0 (or later) of GEMPACK. The files required to use a model with RunDynam can be prepared by someone with access to Release 7.0 (or later) of GEMPACK.

Since Version 3.1 (December 2003) of RunDynam, models must be able to produce files with long file names. This means that models must be prepared using Release 7.0 or later of GEMPACK. And they cannot be prepared using the Fortran compiler F77L3 since EXEs produced with that compiler cannot handle long file names.

When you click on the Change Model button on the Model/Data page, you select either a TABLO-generated program (suffix .EXE) or a GEMSIM Auxiliary Statement file (suffix .GSS). If you select a GEMSIM Auxiliary file, you solve the model using the GEMPACK program GEMSIM. As well as these files, you need other associated files in the same directory.

If you change any of the model files [that is, any of the TABLO-generated EXE, the Auxiliary files, the DIN file or the MIN file (if needed -- see above)], you should re-load the model using the Change Model button on the Model/Data page. For example, if you rerun TABLO and produce a different version of the TABLO-generated program EXE, you should re-load the model -- that will enable RunDynam to hold up-to-date information about your model.
