Directory for Keeping Program Information

The Keep Directory is a directory RunDynam uses to keep information between when you exit RunDynam and when you start it again. The files in this directory are used to restore RunDynam to the state it was in when you last exited. For example, RunDynams Ini file, RUNDYNAM.INI, is stored in the Keep Directory.

The default directory depends on the user folder set by Windows.(often in Windows XP C:\%userprofile%\My Documents ). RunDynam looks in (or creates if not there) a folder GPKEEP which is a subdirectory of the user folder and then looks in the RDYNKEEP subdirectory of the GPKEEP folder. If your user folder is C:\My Documents, then the INI file would be stored in the bottom level folder and so might be called

C:\My Documents\GPKEEP\RDYNKEEP\RUNDYNAM.INI.

The RDYN part of RDYNKEEP in these names may be different for the model-specific versions of this software -- for example, it is RMONKEEP for the MONASH model version of this software.

From Version 3.32 (July 2008), the full name of the EXE goes into the default name of the Keep Directory. For example, the default name of the Keep Directory for RUNDYN2.EXE is now

C:\Documents and Settings\pearson\My Documents\gpkeep\RunDyn2Keep

If you are having problems using the usual Keep directory on your PC and the program cannot find a suitable Keep directory to store the INI file, you can set an extra Environment variable called GPKEEP.
