Closure Files

These files must have suffix .CLS. They are text files which contain GEMPACK Command file statements which together specify a closure.

The simplest way of doing this is to have several statements which list all the exogenous variables and then a rest endogenous ; statement. Alternatively, the closure can be taken from a GEMPACK Environment file or can be modified (by swaps) from the closure on an Environment file.

In fact, any legal GEMPACK Command file statements beginning with the key words

exogenous, endogenous, rest, swap, use, modify, take, xset, xsubset,

file, xfile, save

are allowed. [Other Command file statements are not allowed.]

Please consult the GEMPACK User documentation for details about these Command file statements.

Note that the key word save is not allowed in any of the Common Closure files. [If it were, each time you ran a simulation in the relevant run (Base or Policy), a different Environment file would be saved. And the saved file would represent the closure for that particular year. That could be most confusing since the closure is likely to change for different years.]
