Choosing the Directory to Restore Ingredients into

This advice applies if you are restoring all ingredients from a Zip Archive, or if you are restoring just the Closure and Shocks files from a Zip Archive or from a Closure/Shocks Zip Archive.

We usually recommend that you restore into an empty directory. Otherwise you may overwrite existing files you do not wish to change.

However, if you are restoring several related applications which were all in the same directory when you archived them, you will want to restore them all into the same directory.

The directory select box you see when you are asked to specify the directory into which the files will be restored allows you to type in the name of a non-existent (that is, new) directory; this directory will be created. [For example, you may be working in a directory C:\MODEL\SIM2. Within the directory select box, you can type in C:\MODEL\SIM2\RESTORE, a new directory which will be created.]

When you are restoring files, you will be prompted if the restoration process is about to overwrite an existing file. You can choose whether or not to allow overwriting for each file by clicking on Yes or No. Alternatively, if you know that you are restoring several different applications into the same directory, you expect there to be common files and so you can click on All to indicate that you are happy for all files to be overwritten.
