Running Simulations as Batch Jobs or as Windows Jobs Simulations can be run in two different ways, either as a MSDOS Batch job run at the Command prompt or alternatively, by starting the TABLO-generated program or GEMSIM to execute as a Windows program. On some computers (for example if you are using the computers in a computer laboratory) you may not have permission to use the Command prompt. In this case you can use the menu item in the Run Preferences menu Never Use Bat Jobs for Simulations to override any RunDynam ideas as to how to run simulations and to use the Windows execute method at all times. Since Version 3.1 (December 2003) of RunDynam, models must be able to produce files with long file names. All such models can be run as windows programs so, if you select the option Never Use Bat Jobs for Simulations, RunDynam should still function correctly.
