Copying to ClipBoard The Export..Copy menu command causes the current window (either Contents or Data) to be copied to the Windows ClipBoard. From there it can be pasted to various programs. For example, you can paste directly into an Excel spreadsheet. You can also paste into Word. In the latter case, a series of items separated by tabs appears in your document; select them all and use Word's Convert Text to Table command. You can also copy the transpose of the Data window. When copying real matrices to a spreadsheet, remember that the data copied is only as accurate as that displayed on screen. You may want to increase the number of decimal places before copying. Special case: If you copy macro results to a spreadsheet, an extra column of variable descriptions is pasted into the spreadsheet. The same if filtering is in effect and you copy filtered vector elements. Shortcut: type Ctrl-C to copy results to clipboard. You can also copy individual rows or columns of numbers from the Results window. To copy a column, control-click (ie, hold down Ctrl key while clicking left mouse button) on the column heading. To copy a row, control-click on the row label (left-most cell). Time series solutions In Time Series Mode, the Magic Letter is appended to the top left cell of any table you copy to the clipboard -- to help you remember whether numbers you paste to Excel are from Base, Policy or Difference results, and whether they are Cumulative or Year-on-year.
