Setting the GPTEMP or GPKEEP Environment Variable You can set these environment variables to control where INI files are stored (GPKEEP) or where temporary files are created (GPTEMP). It's best to set them to short directory names which do not contain spaces or non-English characters. For example, you could set: GPKEEP to C:\mystuff GPTEMP to C:\temp To see what Environment variables are set, go to a MS-DOS box and, at the Command prompt, type "SET" or "SET | more". Or look at the Diagnostics window. If your User profile contains non-English characters, it may cause problems. You do not need to change your User-profile. You can set the User Environment variable TMP to be something simple like C:\TEMP. To set Environment variables in Windows XP, select My Computer, then right-mouse-click and select Properties | Advanced | Environment Variables In Windows 7 you can set environment variables by selecting from Windows: Start | Control Panel | System | Advanced | Environment Variables More instructions for setting Environment variables may be found at: http://www.copsmodels.com/gpsetenv.htm URL of this topic: www.copsmodels.com/webhelp/viewhar/hc_setenv.htm Link to full GEMPACK Manual Link to GEMPACK homepage |
