Sort Selection

The Edit..Sort selection command will sort the selected lines according to the criteria shown below:

sortopt

Descending Order causes the largest to appear on top.

Case Sensitive causes upper-case letters to precede lower-case.

Numeric Order means ordering is performed according to the first number on the line.

Ignore Blanks means that blanks, tabs and control characters are ignored.

Begin comparison in column 8 means that columns 1 to 7 of each line are ignored.

This sort is intended for small selections of 1000 lines or less. For really large or sophisticated sorts, you should use a separate sorting program.
