Tables of Coefficients, Variables and Equations Use the Tools..Generate Documentation command to document your model. This command first runs TABLO Check, and then, if no errors are found, generates 3 text files which can be used to help document your model. Suppose your TAB file was called GENRLEQU. The 3 files would be named: •GENRLEQU.MDE ... a list of all the equations of the model; •GENRLEQU.MDC ... a list of all the coefficients of the model; and •GENRLEQU.MDV ... a list of all the variables of the model. These files are designed to be turned into tables within a document. They may be copy/pasted into Excel, or imported as Tab-delimited text files. Or, insert them into a Word document as follows: In Word, use Insert..File to import the file. Select all the text that is imported; then use Table..Convert Text to Table to create a 3 column table. Adjust the widths of the columns manually. Either Word or Excel allows you to sort the table by the first column. Set membership is indicated by the ~ character. You could use Word's search and replace function to replace ~ by another character in the Symbol font, which Microsoft does not allow me to display in a help file (it looks like a rounded E). Where a variable or coefficient has more than one subscript, the sets used are separated by 2 consecutive spaces. You could use Word's search and replace function to replace 2 consecutive spaces by a manual line break.
