Solve

This page is used for loading and saving experiments and for running simulations.

To run a simulation, (a) choose a different Solution method if necessary, (b) enter in a description of your experiment, and (c) click Solve to start the solution process.

While the model is being solved a small window with a spinning globe appears. Depending on the speed of your machine and the chosen solution method, the model could take between 10 seconds and 3 hours to solve.

It is probably better not to use the machine for other purposes while the model is being solved. However, you can hide the solution process if necessary, which will allow you to run other programs. RunGTAP will be minimized to the task bar, but will pop up again automatically when the simulation is completed.

You can also stop the solution process altogether (but see Old job still running).

If the solution is successful, you can save results permanently using the File..Save menu command.
