The Wait Box

When you are zipping up files (or doing some other tasks which usually take a long time), a Please wait box may appear in the middle of the screen.

The caption on this tells you what part of the task (for example, zipping the model files) is currently being done.

When this Wait box is showing, the main form is disabled. (That is, clicking on the main form has no effect.) This is because it would be dangerous (to the integrity of the task being carried out) to alter things during the task. You can minimise the whole form by clicking on the Hide button on the Wait box; this might be useful if you want to carry on with other work (such as word processing).

You can cancel some jobs by clicking on the Cancel button on the Wait box. If so, the Wait box disappears and you are returned to the main form. However (as messages tell you), the underlying job may still be running in a DOS-like box. You can kill this DOS-like box by clicking on the X in its top right-hand corner. Or, select that box and kill the job by typing Control-C (that is, hold down the Ctrl key on the bottom left of your keyboard and, while still holding the Ctrl key down, touch the C key). [It may take some time for the job to be killed. Occasionally you may need to type Control-C twice.
