Scenario Management There are various items for scenario management under the File menu. Here we use the term scenario as an alternative to simulation details. A scenario is a set of base, rerun and policy simulations. These are saved by RunDynam as Simulation Details (.DS1) files. The items below all aim to make it quicker (less steps and mouse clicks) to do tasks which previously you could do with many mouse clicks and steps. Show Scenarios in Working Directory. If you click on this menu item, you will be shown a list of the different (saved) scenarios in the Working Directory. This shows you a list of the .DS1 files in the Working Directory. Copy Selected Scenarios to New Directory. You can select scenarios from the Working Directory to be copied (in the RunDynam sense) to a different directory. Edit Sim Descriptions Selected Scenarios. If you click on this menu item, you can select one or more (saved) scenarios in the Working Directory whose Simulation Description you wish to edit. The Simulation Description files for these scenarios will be loaded into the text editor (eg TABmate). You can make changes and then save the files. Note that if a Simulation Description file for one of the selected scenarios did not exist, RunDynam will first create one and then let you edit it. Delete Selected Scenarios from Working Directory. If you click on this menu item, you can select one or more (saved) scenarios in the Working Directory which you want to delete. For each selected scenario, the corresponding .DS1 and .DS2 files are deleted. Cautions. After you carry out one of the above tasks, you should look carefully on the Sim Overview page to check which scenario is loaded. These tasks may change from the one loaded before you carry out the task. These tasks should proceed with minimal input from you. However, if there are problems (for example, missing files) with one of the scenarios you select, there may be error and information messages, and you may not be sure which scenario is causing the problem. In such a case, you may prefer to handle the scenarios one at a time (rather than selecting several at once).
