The AnalyseGE Interface (3 Forms)

There are 3 forms, namely the AnalyseGE form, a TABmate form and a ViewHAR form. You can switch between these via the Front menu item on the AnalyseGE or the ViewHAR form or using the AnalyseGE menu item on the TABmate form. [Prior to Version 2.70, March 2004, of AnalyseGE, the AnalyseGE menu item on the TABmate form was called the Front menu.]

When the program starts, the TABmate form shows very briefly, then the AnalyseGE form is brought to the front. [At this stage the ViewHAR form is at the back and not relevant.]

You begin by selecting (on the AnalyseGE form) the Solution file containing the results you wish to analyse. You can do this by clicking on the Select/Change button or by selecting one of the recently-used files shown under the File menu. The program will extract the TAB file from this Solution file and open that in the TABmate form.

You can specify an expression to be evaluated either on the TABmate form or in the memo on the AnalyseGE form. If you are working on the TABmate form, many of the familiar TABmate features are available.

Whenever an expression is evaluated, two headers are added to the Header Array file of results being built up. [The first header is the expression and the second header contains the numerical results.] When the evaluation is complete, the ViewHAR form will be brought to the front and it will be open to show you the values of the latest expression. [You can return to the Contents page of ViewHAR and then go to other headers as usual.]

To prepare another expression for evaluation, return either to the TABmate form or to the AnalyseGE form.[In either case, use the Front menu item in the ViewHAR form.]

This sequence can continue as long as you like. Of course you can use a mixture of the two alternative methods for specifying expressions to be evaluated.

When you have finished you can close the program either from the AnalyseGE form or from the TABmate form. [But you are not allowed to close the ViewHAR form directly.] When you close the program, you will be offered the possibility of saving the results from this run of the program.
